Once again into the blog...

So, finished s-CRY-ed today. I remember being soooo into this back when it was on adult swim in 2005 when I was 12. I can definitely see why a 12 year old would be obsessed. The fights are wild, there's some pretty cerebral abilities going on, and the character designs are pretty good. Maybe I'm just a simp for Scheris.... Speaking of which, my beloved... I cried yet again. Not to the point of throwing up, like when I was 12, but still snotty.The final two episodes were so underwhelming after ep 24 though. I'm glad I went back through it, ended up doodling a few Scheris's. Maybe I'll clean some up and put em here.

When I went to work this morning, I passed an older woman carrying a dog. She blew me a kiss and winked, and I felt a little blessed. Ended up doing a lot of drawing today. I'm trying to make it a habit to draw for at least 30 minutes a day. Me and habits, though... not the best of friends. It's funny how some things demand routine from me, but others are a huge struggle. I'm trying to give myself some slack after not really doing much drawing for a couple of years. The skills are there, but rusty. Been trying to go back to basics, do anatomy exercises and such.

Something else to be proud of today is that I finished a short story to submit to a dark romance writing group I'm in. It'll be my first time participating in the monthly contest-- this one being cult related, so I'm a little nervous to see how it does. I've also been putting down more notes for the world I'm building for a DND campaign. It's going in a lot of sci-fi directions, dripping in fantasy... and highly influenced by Bakshi's Wizards. I want to keep this momentum going, just doing a little every day rather than needing to finish Something Big. It's better to half-ass than no-ass something, and practice is still doing the thing.

I have a 3 day weekend coming up, so after I go to this oddities market, I'd like to do a bit more web design studies. This is becoming a fun hobby, and I'm having a good time trying to figure out a layout and aesthetic. I think I have something pretty cute in the works. Certainly not anything I'll find out on the webs... but that's the most fun stuff to make. Just for me. Just for you.
